She’s Here!

At 41 weeks pregnant, we decided it was time to see if Simeign would be willing to join us. I was very pregnant!

We made our way to the hospital the evening of April 18, and settled in to begin the induction. And there we waited…and waited…

After about 24 hours with very little happening, we ramped it up on April 19 around 7:00 pm. My doctor told us to settle in for the night and get some rest, and they’d ramp it up more in the morning.

My body and our kiddo had other plans, and Simeign joined us at 1:06 am on Friday, April 20.

And then, on Saturday, they let us take her home!

  • Congratulations on the new arrival. I was a new parent 32 years ago. I feel you, my son needed 4 hours of sleep and I needed 6 to be functional. He didn’t sleep all the way through the night until he was 2 years old. So my new parent advice to you. Let the baby sleep in her own bed. If she takes a nap, take one with her. Learn to let grandparents and God parents assist when they can. Save a date night for each other. You need the down time. Remember it’s a long ride so as you go you will develop a schedule. It will get easier.
